Aluminium is an element.

Aluminium has one type of atom.

Pure metals have one type of atom.

Bronze and brass are non-ferrous alloys.

Steel and invar are examples of ferrous alloys.

Some alloys are ferrous and some are non-ferrous.

Oxygen has only one type of atom, so it is an element.

Aluminium is a pure metal: it has only aluminium atoms.

Oxygen and hydrogen are elements, so they have one type of atom.

Pure metals are chemical elements but most industrial metalls are alloys.
